Three days to go until the start of the World Cup in South Africa - A month of football on the telly, what could be better eh!? So who do you think will be lifting the cup on the 11th July? Spain are the favourites but i think I'm going to hedge my bets with the past masters of World Cup football, Brazil.

As well as battles on the field many of the biggest global brands will battle it out for advertising bragging rights "off field". Here are my two favourite World Cup adverts so far from leading sports brands Nike & Adidas. I am siding with the Nike, "write the future" as the most impressive, but anything with Ian Brown & Noel Gallagher flicking beer mats in a pub means you have to respect the Adidas one as well! YMC SS10.

You Must Create or YMC for short is a new label for us here at Cloth this summer.
Launched in 1995 by Fraser Moss and Jimmy Collins, YMC has quietly grown to become a highly significant design label.

This season also seen the launch of their YMC basic line. A lower price entry level but without skimping on the quality or design of the mainline, the basic line is anything but basic!

We’re loving the Waxed Parka at the moment. Its nice and lightweight for the summer but also the waxed cotton will keep you protected from the traditional British summer showers....perfect!

Universal Works - New Work Shirts.

We recently received a delivery of two cracking Work Shirts from Universal Works.

We now have the popular Chambray Work Shirt in stock.

Also a new colour in the long sleeve patchwork shirt. This lighter sand colourway in the patchwork was made exclusively for their “Pop Up” store in London last month.

Both shirts feature two chest pockets, with the right a button flap pocket and the left a slot pocket with space to hold a pen. Double button single cuffs and curved front hem.

We don't expect these to hang around for too long..!

New Season.

So I have spent the last couple of weeks back and forth from London buying for next season. I have to say next winter is looking great! We have one....two....three new labels to shout about next season along with the old favourites, all will be revealed in due course.

Anyway onto here and now.... and we have been inundated with all new Summer 2010 deliveries! The shop is looking a whole lot brighter with new season clobber, pity the same couldn't be said for the weather outside! Oliver Spencer, Fred Perry Laurel, Universal Works & Junk de Luxe have all made their way to the store!

We also had our first deliveries from two new labels Folk & YMC.

First up introducing Folk, established by Cathal McAteer in 2001, a meticulous eye for colour, fabric selection and quirky touches made the label a personal favourite of mine before it dropped through Cloth's doors, you will love it too! Its no surprise to see Cathal listed in the top 100 of GQ's most important people in UK menswear.

We have some cracking shirting from Folk, the popular nearly cardigan in a new oatmeal colour way. Also my favourite piece so far the button up "cozy" cardigan. All over square texture made from a merino and cotton mix, this piece is perfect for layering up on the cooler days! Some nice details like wooden buttons that spell out Folk the way they are stitched.

So the first month of 2010 is nearly over already, where does the time go!?
January has been a busy in the shop, sales, new deliveries and this week I finally got my hands on our new website.

The week has flown by while I try and upload images and product information to the site. Once I have enough products on there the new site will go live. New deliveries are arriving thick and fast so we aren’t too far away from a launch date. Don’t forget to drop me you email if you would like to be added to the mailing list.

Speaking of new deliveries, the first boxes through the door this season are from Fred Perry Laurel and Folk.

The usual quality polo’s from Fred again, we also have the slim fitting Japanese polo this season and a cracking Aldwych Suede shoe!

This is our first season with Folk and we are delighted to be stocking the label at Cloth. Cathal McAteer’s brand has a meticulous eye for detail, fabric selection and colour. Their knitwear pieces are some of the best I have seen, in store now and online very soon!

As we have to make room for all the nice new stock, we now have a 50% FINAL SALE right across all our Winter collections. A perfect time to pick up a bargain as we still have some cracking pieces left!

Via selectism I came across the news that Folk have just opened their second store in Shoreditch, London. As alot of my buying goes on in the area, i hope to check out their new space while I'm over next month.

Folk will be landing at Cloth for the first time very soon. I am personally really looking forward to having this label here for SS10.

…On that note new deliveries should begin to arrive this month. I really feel this is going to be our strongest season yet at Cloth. We have great things to look forward to from our old favourites plus a few new labels like Folk to show you. 2010 is going to be great!

Oliver's version of the shawl collar cardigan has certainly become one of my favourite pieces to wear during the winter months.

I personally still much prefer to buy my Cd's the old fashioned way, but for those who choose digital, Apple have released the Beatles Stereo USB.

Shaped like an Apple (of course), this limited edition launch offers 14 digitally remastered stereo albums, CD 'visual elements', 13 mini-documentary films about the albums, replicated original UK album art, rare photos and expanded liner notes, all on one USB device.

Rather nifty i must say. So if you would like to treat yourself this Christmas or drop a hint to a really nice person, you better be quick!

Its practically sold out in the US and orders in the UK are on a first come, first served basis on its release early December.

Lookbooks: Oliver Spencer SS10

December is almost upon us and some fashion blogs are already talking about summer 2010.

Looking outside at the rain and feeling the winter chill over the passing weeks the thought of summer wears is furthest from mind.

However having stumbled across the latest Oliver Spencer summer lookbook via secret forts renewed my excitment with the new collection that i first viewed back in August.

Oliver's coming summer collection is particular strong and i sense a lot of people will be looking forward to this one. As a buyer looking back it was tough to be selective. But I'm confident i got it just about right and cant wait to have our showing come the new year.

Until then i wont be putting away my Pole Jacket just yet...!

Co-founded by Justin Timberlake and his friend Trace Ayala, premium denim brand William Rast unveiled three new stores in California this month as part of the brands strategy to launch another 40 to 50 units by 2012.

Working with the Los Angeles-based architecture firm Johnston Marklee, William Rast transported the rugged Americana found in Timberlake and Ayala’s home state of Tennessee to Tinseltown for an aesthetic dubbed New America.

OK, so when is new online site going to be launched...!?

Sorry, I am going as fast as i can, promise! I hope to have something for you before the winter season eventually runs out as we have plenty of nice things to show you! Getting the finer details of the website right has proven tricky, but the bulk of the work is now done, so we'll be with you very soon.

The new online store will launch from the old address, so don't disregard it from your memory just yet... we'll keep you posted via this blog on the launch date.

Spotted in this weeks Daily Telegraph newspaper, kudos to the guys over at FOLK who's store at Lambs Conduit Street London, picked up the title of Best Local Fashion in the Telegraph Magazine Shop Awards.

Retail expert and Telegraph magazine shop reviewer, Mary Portas states, " What binds these winners together is the trust that we have as consumers".

Its hardly a surprise that we really like FOLK here at Cloth. And what we like usually makes it into the store. So we are a little excited to announce our 1st delivery in January 2010... We cant wait!
